Vanillathunder's TG Caption Contest II: Electric Boogaloo - The Results!

Hey, everyone! I hope everyone's Thanksgivings were swell and I hope everyone snagged some good Black Friday deals, but let's get down to business! The poll is closed and the results are in! But before we get to the winner of the contest, I just want to thank everyone who submitted and everyone who voted or showed the entries love. (And if you haven't, be sure to go do it now that the contest has ended. I know from experience that comments are always appreciated.) The turnout wasn't quite as grand as my first contest, but it was still very respectable and it's always nice to see who decides to share their captioning skills with us. So now, without further ado, here is the winner, drumroll please.

*drumroll*

The winner is... DayeandKnight with their caption, "It Just Happened"!

And if you didn't win, don't despair, because the votes were rather close for most of it and the winning caption won by a nose, and personally, I loved everyone's entries, which is actually why I rely on a poll to decide a winner because if it was left entirely up to me I'd never be able to decide. And again, I really want to thank y'all for joining the contest because it was great to see what you came up with based on my photo choice and prompt. And so, congratulations DayeandKnight, you're the winner of my caption contest!

So again, a big thank you to everyone for entering and for voting and congratulations to the winner! I'll be in touch to arrange your requested caption!

Go On A Bit Longer

A bit of a non-traditional Thanksgiving cap, but it's a bit of a tough holiday to write caps for so I decided to play with it a bit.

And don't forget to vote in the caption contest's poll!

PROJECT: NEW AMERICA

Technically I should hold this over for Fourth of July next year but that's like eight months away so I'm gonna put this out the week of Thanksgiving because it's also an American holiday.

And don't forget to vote in the caption contest's poll!

Letters Home

Saw this photo and knew it was going to be a missive-based caption but then I decided to do a dual-narrative type thing. Which one do you think is the true message and which one do you think made it back to Kevin/Katie's parents?

VanillaThunder's TG Caption Contest II: Electric Boogaloo - The Poll

That's right, everyone, the contest is over, all the entries are in and it's time to cast your votes! The voting period will run for one week and end on November 28th, after which we'll see who won!

But before we get to the poll, it's time to see the entries!

First up we had DayeandKnight's "It Just Happened"

Next up we've got salgirl21's entry:

I know you don't even want to look at me dad but your protests make me sad. I came here to clear the air and explain to you I am happy as a girl.
I am trying to understand Shane,  No Dad it's Shaniah now and you need to start to realise a woman is who I am now.
Please understand it is hard for me  I wanted you to stay with me after your mum and I split up but you chose her and now come back 12 months later like this.
The reason I chose her was because you forced me into sports but I wanted a gentler life always knew I was not a man's man and when I told mum she said I know how about we try something new.
New city new me sounded good, so fully embraced becoming her daughter.
And here I am a complete girl now and happy standing in front of her dad asking him to accept his daughter too.
Yes I can accept you Shaniah, can you become girlfriends with my new partner she is only a few years older than you.
Sure dad how about we double date with my boyfriend.

Next we've got two entries from frequent commenter "fj":

(Note: I'm placing them together for the sake of the post but they'll have their own separate entries on the poll)

And then there's "A Brand-New Feeling" from CandyCaptions:

And then we have an honorable mention from friend of the blog Dee of "Dee-lusions of Grandeur" who requested that their entry not be included in the vote:

And now, here's the poll! Happy voting, and remember it'll be open until next Sunday at midnight PST!

If there's a tie in the end, I'll break it, but otherwise, the winner is up to you! You can vote for as many as you like, but only one can win, may the best captioneer win! (As a reminder the prize is, apart from the satisfaction of winning, I will fulfill any caption request from the winner, within reason.)

The Case of the Photographist Niece

I might be reading too many old British detective novels, but I decided to get a little creative with this one when I found the photo in Andrea TG's DeviantArt sta.sh:

A little under two days left to enter the contest!

The Funeral

Saw this photo and it spoke to me as a more supportive TG cap, leaning more into the sweetness and real transgender issues as opposed to the heavily fictionalized forced feminization stuff we usually see. Nothing against that of course, I love it, but it's nice to do this sometimes.

Nineteen Again

Found the photo and knew it was gonna involve the door to a frat party it just took me a while to iron out the other elements, which are shamelessly lifted from that Zac Efron movie.

I Know You Probably Don’t Even Want to Look at Me

While it might be hardly sporting, I figured I'd throw my hat into the ring for the contest, considering there's just about a week left to get your entries in if you wish to enter!

(I kid, of course, my entry won't be counted in for the potential to win, after all, what would I do with the ability to request a caption from myself? Most of my captions are my own requests! But we've only had a few entries so far so it'll be a rather disappointing turnout if we don't get some more soon)

What About Me?

Saw this and immediately knew it was gonna be a "step-brother turned step-sister" cap but didn't quite get the ending until I thought of how to make the effort worth it on the part of the step-mother.

Nice Try

Again, trying stuff out with some new font. I think I like this one, so I'm now trying to find a balance between visually striking and actually readable. (If you have issues reading the captions, check out the DeviantArt page, linked in the sidebar, to find versions with the text in the description)

Hiding From The Mob

This one's been sitting in my drafts for ages because I came up with the idea for it, but didn't have a picture to go along with it. You know there's a surprising amount of bondage images that have naked people in them! I needed something slightly more chaste so it wasn't until I remembered an old TG cap by Alix of Alix's Regretful/TG Caps that I was able to find a suitable image.

A Small Price To Pay (Part 2)

I'm glad you all enjoyed this one, but a few of you expressed interest in a sequel and a bit of a retcon. Since I like to stand by what I wrote, I decided to make a sequel that incorporated the same general idea, but I'd be remiss if I didn't thank Mellissa Lynn on DeviantArt for the idea. Hope you like seeing the end of Queen Alaria's story!

Vanillathunder’s TG Caption Contest II: Electric Boogaloo!

Well folks, Halloween has come and gone and I bet most of us are just crawling out of our candy comas from last night (or hangovers from scary movie marathons), but I've got an announcement to make! It’s time for another caption contest! The first one was a lot of fun so it’s time to do it again!

Unlike the last one, in which I pretty much gave you full reign to do anything you wanted regarding a sequel to one of my captions, this time I’m taking a tip from Dee Mentia’s DIY cap contests and going to give you a picture (featuring the model Rilee Marks) and a prompt to use, which is:

“I know you probably don’t even want to look at me…”

I don’t want to dictate anything else about the caption, so the story can feature transformation via realistic means, crossdressing, magic, anything else you might think of, it just has to feature that line somewhere in it, said by anyone in the cap, it doesn't necessarily have to be the transformee.

This time we’re going to rein it in from a full month to three weeks to make the captions and then we’ll have just a single week for voting, so it starts today, November 1st, and all entries have to be in by midnight PST on November 21st, and then voting will run until the following Sunday, November 28th, just in time for everyone to be thankful that you decided to share your captioning skills with us!

Rules: Unlike last time, since I’m choosing the picture, this means that I don’t need to institute a rule that says that there shouldn’t be any nudity, because the picture is clean. But that doesn’t mean that you can’t get a little risque in the text, although if you’re going to state the age of your characters, try to keep them over 18 if things are gonna get hot and heavy. Other than that, the only other requirement is that the caption has to feature the line: “I know you probably don’t even want to look at me…” You can play around with the wording, but try to keep the spirit, okay?

Other than that, the sky's the limit! Like last time, the big prize is the satisfaction of winning and also the ability to request a caption from me! But if we get enough entries that there’s a tie at the end I might do a winner and a runner up, and maybe the winner gets two captions, but we’ll have to see.

To submit your caption either comment a link on this post if you’re putting it on your own blog, if you’re entering on DeviantArt, just tag the caption “vthunder42” and if you don’t have a blog or a DeviantArt but still want to enter, you can email the caption to [REDACTED], and I’ll post it here with your name attached, but it’s always more fun to post it for everyone to see and get proper credit for it, so use the last option as a last resort.

If it’s your first time making a caption, feel free to refer to this caption-making guide posted in the comments during the last contest: https://toolbox.rachelshaven.com/paintnet.php (I also use paint.net so while I self-taught myself what to do because I didn’t have that tutorial, it’s basically how I do it, the only thing about paint.net is that you need to download and install plugins yourself, so if you want outlines or other things use this link: https://forums.getpaint.net/topic/7291-pyrochild-plugins-2020-11-21/)
