It's a slightly convoluted process, I use paint.net to make my caps so this is the tutorial I used: https://forums.getpaint.net/topic/112777-add-an-animated-gif-add-other-elements-and-save-as-animated-gif/ But it boils down to getting a plugin, converting the image to .agif, editing it there, I like to add the text into every single frame which is a long process, and then export it as a regular gif and it seems to work, though I've only done it twice because it's a lot of work.
It is nice with someone so dedicated to their work.
